Utah Prepping for Filming High School Musical 4

This year's Sundance Film Festival was featuring two movies produced in Utah locations. Starting in Park City at 12 midnight was "Frozen," a horror film shot in Snowbasin about three helpless skiers trapped on a ski lift. Yet, another, "Lovers of Hate," was filmed over only a week inside a Deer Valley mansion.

One of the keys to Utah's film success is due to the state legislature raising the tax credit for film productions up 5 percent. Marshall Moore, executive director of the Utah Film Commission noted, "it's made all the difference in the world...It has allowed us to talk to the studios and allowed us to work with cable networks and the independents."

With this tax incentive in place, six feature films are scheduled to begin production including two independent Disney movies, "High School Musical 4" and "John Carter of Mars."

Wow, can't wait for that! Let's hope HSM4 gets some legs soon.
